Speaking Our Truth

When we speak from the heart, we are speaking our truth. When we speak from our head, we’re speaking our attitudes. The heart enables us to be inclusive and to be willing to listen and hear. It may change nothing of our own truth. However, others feel heard, not dismissed, and we have an opportunity to understand.

When we speak from our heart, we respect another’s journey. We don’t know how they arrived where they are and so listening may give us valuable clues. In those clues we may find that our truths are not so very different after all.

Most especially, it takes away the potential conflict that leads to battle lines forming. It offers a path to find connection and more empathy.

How do you speak your truth?
