John the Beloved

The Spiritual Journey

At the end of December, John spoke about the spiritual journey, the journey that we’re all on. And so this coming year, we thought that through social media, we would walk the path of the spiritual journey each month. Because it offers us an opportunity to share some basic tools with people who are beginners. But it also helps those of us who have been doing this a little bit longer to try other things. And it’s always a good idea to reassess who we are and where we are.

The spiritual journey is about being who we are and in other talks and other social media we’ve talked about being who you be. John talks about the fact that the journey is a journey into understanding ourselves at a Soul level.

It’s also about understanding why our Soul chose the personality we have to enable us to do the work that we’ve come to achieve.

The spiritual journey is really about coming home to Self. And that’s about acceptance. However, there’s a misconception that if we’re on a spiritual path, it’s not going to be messy. It’s going to be tidy. We’re going to  learn things step by step getting better and better, more and more spiritual until we become an avatar or something else.

And that is a wonderful illusion.

The spiritual path is messy and it’s messy because although our Soul is very clear about why we’ve incarnated and what we want to do, the personality thinks it’s the boss, thinks it’s in charge. And our Soul created certain aspects to our personality that it’s struggled with through previous lifetimes and is hoping in this lifetime to resolve. Every lifetime there’s something to resolve. And the resolution every lifetime is how we learn and it’s how we grow through acceptance, not judgment or criticism.

So why would we walk a spiritual path?

Because it’s in our nature to want to be more. For some people, that more is purely material. For others who can hear that still small voice that whispers in the ear on occasions, it’s about wanting to be more of who we can be and of how we can contribute in a world that is becoming increasingly more challenged and dysfunctional.

So in learning to walk the path of our spiritual journey, we’re striving to align ourselves to the ancient wisdom, to universal energy, to rise above the personality, because the Soul sees so much more, and what it sees is a beautiful journey.

Hope you’ll join us this year and we’d love to hear what becomes relevant for you as a consequence.
