Sustaining Our Purpose

When we’re in alignment with our purpose, genuinely in alignment. We’ve clarified it by sitting in our heart chakra and asking, hopefully using the meditation exercise that we’ve given you this month. Then the outer impacts of what we’re seeking to do become less and less. And therefore our purpose becomes self-sustaining.

We don’t have to think about it every day.

We don’t have to check in to see if we’re on purpose.

Because when we’re aligned to who we are, it’s kind of like a plant that we want to grow and we’ve prepared the soil first. We make sure that it’s got the nutrients in it that it needs, that it’s got the substances that will help it to sustain itself. And that comes from how we understand ourselves.

It comes from being real, being willing to speak our truth gently, sometimes forcefully, although never loudly. Being willing to share who we are without being concerned how others might choose to accept us or not.

Because when we are living our true purpose, it sustains us. We don’t need to sustain it. It means that no matter how hard or difficult the work periods might be, the challenges might become, we’ve got the fuel within us continuously to keep us moving forward, not dragging ourselves forward, but having the vitality and the energy that comes from being real and from being genuine.

And the more that we do that, the more that we allow ourselves to express that, the stronger it becomes within us. And that strengthens our immune system, which is a bit sneaky, but it’s a great byproduct. But it also means that those that we encounter feel that they can do it too if they see who we are, see our vitality that comes from being engaged, enjoying, sharing -whatever it is our purpose is, because it comes from the heart of who we are.

Then those around us begin to question are they doing the same? In a positive way. They look at what they can achieve, how they can move forward. Because you’re not talking about success in a theatre with 100,000 people watching you. Yes, you may get that, but that’s not the outcome. That’s not the end goal.

The end goal is that when we have clarified our purpose and we are authentic in who we are, it’s that we can continue to be that, to offer that, to share that with all those around us unconditionally for as long as we choose and we don’t burn out in the process.
